Dr. L. Patt Franciosi, Ph.D - Immediate Past
President of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH)
L. Patt Franciosi, PhD is the Immediate Past President of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH). The WFMH is dedicated to promoting the highest possible level of mental health in all nations. Dr. Franciosi represents the WFMH on the Executive Committee of the Global Consortium for the Advancement of Promotion and Prevention in Mental Health (GCAPP), and is its Vice President. She is Chair of the Program Committee of the Fourth World Conference on the Promotion of Mental Health and Prevention of Mental and Behavioral Disorders.
Dr. Franciosi previously held the position of President of the U.S. National Mental Health Association (NMHA), which works to improve the mental health of all Americans through advocacy, education, research and service. In addition, Dr. Franciosi has served as Chair of the National Prevention Coalition, an organisation comprised of more than 25 allied mental health associations, including both the WFMH and the NMHA.
Dr. Franciosi has received Presidential appointments to the National Institute for Mental Health Advisory Council as well as the United States Health and Human Services Secretary’s Council on Promotion and Disease Prevention. She has received numerous awards for her mental health advocacy work, particularly in the area of children’s mental health.
Dr. Franciosi earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Amelia Mustapha is Vice President of the European Depression Association and Communications Director of the UK's Centre for Mental Health. Amelia was previously Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Director of the Depression Alliance, the leading UK Charity for people affected by depression.
Amelia is a keen campaigner and patient advocate. She coordinated the UK's National Depression Week campaign for five years and managed the secretariat function for the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Depression. Amelia has written over 20 publications on depression for the general public and recently sat on the UK National Institute for Clinical Excellence 'Depression in Children Clinical Guideline' group.
Prof. Pedro Delgado - Chairman

Pedro Delgado, MD, is Chairman, Department of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine, University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He also serves as Associate Dean for Faculty Development for the medical school.
Dr. Delgado is a skilled clinician whose research interests focus on the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of mood and anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions. He has been consistently listed in Best Doctors in America since 1996. Dr. Delgado is most known for his groundbreaking work using neurotransmitter depletion in the study of antidepressant drugs. For his work investigating the biology of depression, he shared the prestigious Anna Monika Prize in 1995. Research on the biology of depression continues to be the focus of his current National Institutes of Health (NIH) -funded research. He serves on the editorial boards of many prominent psychiatric journals, as an ad hoc reviewer for the Medical Research Council of Canada, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and the NIH.

Michael Bauer, MD, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychiatry and Deputy Director in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Charité-University Medicine Berlin, Campus Charité Mitte, in Germany. In addition, he is Director of the General Outpatient Clinics and Bipolar Clinic, and Director of the Mood Disorder Research Program, also at Charité-University Medicine Berlin.
Professor Bauer’s research interests include the neurobiology and treatment of mood disorders with an emphasis on bipolar disorder and refractory depression, and investigation of the thyroid system in mood disorders using neuroendocrine and functional brain imaging (PET) techniques. He is the principal investigator of an international multicenter trial on the efficacy of high-dose levothyroxine in bipolar depression funded by the Stanley Medical Research Institute, Bethesda.
Michael Bauer has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals, five edited books and 40 book chapters and has been the recipient of several honors and awards, including the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD) Young Investigator Award, the NARSAD Independent Investigator Award 2005, the Judson Braun Research Scholarship at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft Research Scholarship.
Dr. Ricardo Colin - Deputy

Ricardo Colin is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He is the Head of Psychiatry at La Salle University, School of Medicine, Mexico City, and associate professor of Neuropsychiatry at the National University of Mexico, postgraduate department, School of Medicine.
He is also the president of the Mexican Neuropsychiatric Association and attends a private practice in Mexico City, mainly treating patients with Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder.
His research interest is focused on Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ETC) in affective and neurologic disorders.
